Program 01
Culinary Basics
An introduction to cooking fundamentals for beginners β knife skills, kitchen safety, and simple recipes that build real confidence.
About This Program
Culinary Basics is our flagship beginner program, designed for boys who are just starting their cooking journey. No experience is needed β just curiosity and a willingness to learn!
What You'll Learn
- Kitchen Safety: How to safely use knives, stoves, and other equipment
- Knife Skills: Basic cutting techniques including chopping, dicing, and mincing
- Cooking Methods: SautΓ©ing, boiling, baking, and grilling
- Simple Recipes: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner recipes you can make at home
- Food Hygiene: Proper food handling and cleanliness
Who It's For
This program is open to boys ages 10β16, regardless of cooking experience. All skill levels are welcome!

Program 02
Community Cookouts
Boys come together to cook meals for their community β sharing food, stories, and the joy of giving back.
About This Program
Community Cookouts are one of the most rewarding parts of Boys Who Cook. Participants work together to plan and prepare full meals, then share those meals with members of their community β including families, neighbors, and local organizations.
What We Do
- Plan a complete menu together as a team
- Shop for ingredients and stay within a budget
- Cook the meal from start to finish
- Serve the community and share in the experience

Impact

Program 03
Advanced Techniques
For boys who are ready to take their cooking to the next level β exploring complex recipes, world cuisines, and professional kitchen skills.
About This Program
Advanced Techniques is designed for boys who have completed Culinary Basics or who already have cooking experience. This program takes a deeper dive into culinary arts, exploring more complex techniques and international cuisines.
What You'll Learn
- Advanced Knife Skills: Julienne, brunoise, chiffonade, and more
- World Cuisines: Explore dishes from different cultures around the world
- Baking & Pastry: Breads, cakes, and pastries from scratch
- Plating & Presentation: Making food look as good as it tastes
- Menu Development: How to design a full menu for an event
Requirements
Participants should have completed Culinary Basics or demonstrate equivalent cooking experience. Ages 12β18.
